From Cornwall With Love

Cornwall is a county alive with entrepreneurial spirit and packed full of small businesses with sustainability at their core. It’s not surprising, considering the inspiring natural environment that surrounds us down here.

This spring, the Leap team were meant to be doing an office-swap for a few weeks with our London-based friends, fellow B Corp and comms partners Don’t Cry Wolf.  Thanks to COVID, we didn’t go to London and the team from Don’t Cry Wolf didn’t get their working holiday to beautiful Cornwall.  We didn’t want them to miss out entirely, however, and thought that we could send them a flavour of Cornwall (in the form of some of our favourite local products) to make up for the fact that they couldn’t be here in person

During lockdown that idea developed; we wanted to say thank you to some of our other regular clients and partners for working with us to make a difference during such a challenging period.  We also wanted to do something to support some of the Cornish businesses, producers and artists that we love.  That’s how our From Cornwall With Love project was born and developed.

The team picked out (and Matt then packed into boxes) a few favourites that speak to multiple senses and that share the best of Cornwall while supporting our local economy.  Many of those products are produced in sustainable ways, from the people that they support through to their packaging.

The From Cornwall With Love boxes included a bottle of Twin Fin Spiced Golden Rum, a bag of limited edition Las Brisas Single Origin Coffee by Yallah Coffee Roasters (which was shipped by sail from Colombia to Cornwall), a Foodie Gift Set by The Cornish Seaweed Company, a bar of Made For Life’s organic soap, a bar of foraged gorse flower milk chocolate by bean-to-bar chocolatier Chocolarder, tea grown right here in Cornwall at Tregothnan, a samphire & sage coastal candle made by St Eval, Tribute pale ale from St Austell Brewery, and a limited edition art print in support of the Black Lives Matter campaign by Lumikha Art as well a a limited edition “Minimal Cornwall” print of surf at Watergate Bay by Matt himself.

Trips created a beautiful brand for the project, and using that we produced a tasting notes booklet to accompany the gift boxes, which also included the latitude and longitude co-ordinates showing where each item was produced.  The booklets were printed on Extract recycled paper, a premium uncoated paper stock made from recycled take-away coffee cups.

Cornish Love Ones,
We are so touched by the delightful packages we all received.
You guys are truly wonderful people and so thoughtful.
We are all tucking into our treats and can’t thank you enough.
John

“Hiya Matt, well, what a lovely surprise arrived for me this morning all the way from Cornwall! I had the biggest smile exploring all the goodies within. Can’t wait to get stuck in tasting it all. I’m also looking for a spot in my freshly repainted place to show off my limited prints. Thank you again. It’s a real pleasure working with you and the Leap team. Jen.”
