The inaugural London Impact Awards took place in February 2020, recognising and celebrating the charitable organisations and young leaders working to reduce youth violence in London and helping to build positive futures for the city’s young at-risk people. We were delighted to be commissioned to make a set of five EcoTrophies for the awards.
The London Impact Awards
The awards are organised by the London Community Foundation, a charity that has supported grassroots community organisations over the last 20 years, helping the most disadvantaged people and communities in the nation’s capital. They specialise in finding and funding small, under the radar groups that are making real differences to their communities.
The award categories recognized organisations for innovation, collaboration, and voice, as well as championing young leaders who have been particularly impactful. The Citi Foundation (part of Citgroup Global Investment Bank and Financial Services) supported the awards, and the three winning organisations received £30,000 grants whilst the Young Leader award winners received £2000 each to support their professional development. The winners were:

LIA EcoTrophies
The EcoTrophies that we produced were made using FSC certified hardwood offcuts from a bespoke furniture maker, inlaid with acrylic (recycling offcuts from another project) and finished with a custom eco-wax and felt base made using recycled plastic bottles. The categories and winner’s names were laser-etched into the wood before the ceremony, and shipped to London in Flexi-Hex’s® eco cardboard packaging solutions.
EcoTrophies For A New World Of Awards
During the current COVID-19 crisis, many awards ceremonies have been cancelled. However, the act of recognising and rewarding worthy recipients of awards has not halted. If you are involved with organising an awards event that has had to adapt to the current circumstances, perhaps celebrating your winners virtually rather than at a physical event, then we are still able to make and deliver environmentally conscious and low impact trophies, direct to your winners. We can work remotely with our primary production partner to design trophies using materials that are already in stock (most often, offcuts of FSC hardwood) and that can be manufactured entirely in-house, so you can still celebrate achievement and show appreciation for those doing great work.
