Whether or not sustainability is important to your business doesn’t really matter. We do that stuff anyway and at no extra cost: you get brilliant design work, and we make sure that you cover your triple bottom line. The end result is that you and the world around us both profit.
Leap has been a certified BCorp since 2016. BCorp is a global non-profit movement promoting a force for good to solve social or environmental problems. The BCorp vision is that companies will one day not only become the best in the world at what they do but also be the best for the world.
Becoming a B Corp feels to us like joining a community of like-minded positive deviants doing business for good and creating positive futures while sharing how it is being done. We believe this is how all businesses should be.
Sustainable Web Manifesto
Climate change is an unprecedented crisis and the biggest threat faced by humanity. The internet now has a larger carbon footprint than the aviation industry (approximately 2% of global emissions, making it as much a part of the problem as it is a part of the solution.
The sustainable web manifesto commits Leap to creating a greener web that is good for people and planet. This can be achieved by making all of our online work and activities as clean, efficient, open, honest and regenerative as possible. We are a signatory of the Sustainable Web Manifesto.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is a set of 17 inter-connected targets that address the most pressing global challenges. They are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for everyone, wherever they live and whatever they do, by 2030. Designed to facilitate prosperity at the same time as protecting the planet, their focuses include economic development, health, equality, education, justice, global resources and climate action.
As a certified B Corp, Leap have to score highly in a regular B Impact Assessment that measures our impact upon various stakeholders (including the environment, our team, customers and community). The B Impact Assessment Indicators have been mapped against the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (and their underlying targets and indicators) to allow businesses to understand and measure their efforts to deliver on the goals. At Leap we are committed to considering and incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals into our work.
Climate Emergency Declaration
Here at Leap, we formally recognise the urgent threat faced by humanity and officially declare a Climate Emergency. We urge you to do the same.
Declaring a Climate Emergency and acknowledging its economical impacts commits us to developing a ‘Climate Emergency Plan’, publishing a board resolution and annually reporting on progress. The plan’s action points must be in line with what is needed to reach net zero between 2025-2050 and keep us within the critical 1.5 degrees global mean temperature increase.
Because Leap has been working at net zero or better since 2006, we will be sharing best practices with others to help them achieve the same.
The scientific consensus is clear. We have run out of time and must act now, together. We urge you to join us in declaring a climate emergency and ecological breakdown, reduce your impact on the planet, and use your business to help stem and turn the tide.
